Phu Parn is an endangered Asian elephant who was born in 2005. He was 14 yrs old when he painted this picture. He was adopted by the Thai Elephant Conservation Center on November 11, 2008. Notice the stunning complexity of his flowers.
Throughout history, elephants have been revered by the Thai people and remain a permanent symbol of their culture. The Asian elephant population has significantly declined due to habitat loss and agricultural mechanization. Regrettably, these beautiful animals are now on the endangered species list. As we learned from the extinction of the Passenger Pigeon, an immediate and honest conservation effort must be made to defend the Asian elephant against its extinction.
Kindness forward: The royal Thai Elephant Conservation Center receives 50% of the profit
The royal Thai Elephant Conservation Center (TECC) in Lampang is a valuable and effective conservation effort by the royal Thai government. The TECC is home to a first of its kind, The Friends of the Asian Elephant Hospital, whose mission is that no sick or injured elephant will ever be turned away. When we ship 10,000 Museum-quality, fine art Giclée prints of the original, cheapshit.com will appreciably magnify the fund-raising efforts of the TECC and these wonderful elephants. With our method, an elephant only needs to make one painting taking 15 min. Due to the enormous expense involved in the care and conservation of these noble spirits and because of the TECC's limited fundraising capabilities, cheapshit.com has stepped in to:
- multiply the fund-raising efforts of the elephants
- provide a perpetual reminder of these noble spirits to the world
- pay kindness forward
